Vote: The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week poll for April 3-9

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for April 3-9.

The deadline is noon Friday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports. This ballot includes baseball, golf, slowpitch softball, soccer, tennis and track and field.

Instructions on how to nominate someone are listed at the bottom of the story.

Here are the nominees for April 3-9.

Baseball

Braydon Armstrong, Sr., Union City: In 11 at-bats last week, Armstrong tallied seven hits including one home run, two doubles and one triple. He recorded a .636 batting average and with seven walks his on-base percentage was .778.

Preston Cotter, Sr., Cashion: Cotter was a reliable hitter for Cashion last week. He went 4-of-7 from the plate with a home run, a double and two singles. He also walked six times.

Casen Richardson, Jr., Dale: Richardson did it all for the Pirates this week. On the mound, he struck out seven batters in seven innings against Shawnee. At the plate, he went 8-of-15 with one double, four runs and four RBIs.

Boys golf

Bo Burton, Sr., Edmond North: Burton carded a 70 to win an individual title at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Championship last Monday. He led the Huskies to a runner-up finish.

Devin Frey, Sr., Guthrie: Frey recorded a 75 at John Conrad Golf Course for a Suburban Conference individual title Thursday. With that score, he also placed third in the Carl Albert Invitational.

Carson Lee, Sr., Bishop McGuinness: With a 72, Lee placed first at the Carl Albert Invitational. The William Jewell signee helped the Fighting Irish finish second.

Girls golf

Abbie Justiz, Fr., Bishop McGuinness: Justiz carded a 72 to secure second place Wednesday at the Kingfisher Invitational. Her team also finished second.

Jaeya Mathis, Sr., Westmoore: In her first tournament back from an injury, Mathis recorded a 74 at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Invitational. She placed third after a scorecard playoff broke a four-way tie.

Amy Reavis, So., Stillwater: As one of Stillwater’s two golfers in the top five, Reavis helped the Pioneers win the COAC Championship. With a 74, she placed fourth after the scorecard playoff.

Boys soccer

Xaiden Easter, So., Classen SAS: With a hat trick, the sophomore captain led the Comets to a 4-2 win against OKC Storm on Tuesday.

Mung Mang, Sr., Mustang: Mang provided two goals and two assists as Mustang defeated Edmond Santa Fe, 6-1, on Tuesday. Then he had one goal and four assists in an 8-0 victory against Capitol Hill on Friday.

Kade Stevens, Sr., Stillwater: The senior goalkeeper led Stillwater to a pair of shutout victories last week. He notched five saves in a 1-0 win over Putnam West and had five more as the Pioneers beat Enid, 1-0.

Girls soccer

Presslee Amick, Sr., Norman North: Amick provided three assists and two goals through two wins last week. The Timberwolves defeated U.S. Grant, 10-0, and Edmond Santa Fe, 5-0.

Jordan Hahn, Jr., Piedmont: Hahn led the Wildcats with three goals as they defeated Guymon, 5-0, on Friday.

Avery Mask, Sr., Edmond Memorial: Six players had a goal or assist in Edmond Memorial’s 3-1 win against Norman on Friday, and the success started with Mask. The senior midfielder facilitated the ball up the middle to create those opportunities.

Slowpitch Softball

Elly Allison, Sr., Washington: Allison batted .788 with 27 RBIs and 11 home runs last week to keep Washington’s win streak alive.

Hannah Earlywine, Jr., North Rock Creek: Earlwine recorded a .678 batting average to go along with 15 home runs, 51 RBI and 11 doubles. North Rock Creek is 20-1 on the season.

Rylee Houska, Jr., Deer Creek: Houska was on a tear last week turning in a .714 batting average with five home runs, two doubles and 11 RBIs. She also scored 10 runs.

Boys tennis

Trenton Kanchanakomtorn, Fr., Westmoore: He claimed No. 1 singles titles at the Yukon and Mustang tournaments last week.

Ty Loy, Sr., Yukon: He earned a runner-up finish in No. 2 singles at Yukon’s tournament.

Ben VanLandingham, So., Crossings Christian: He placed second in No. 1 singles at the Yukon tournament.

Girls tennis

Sofia Acuña, Jr., Classen SAS: Acuña, who claimed the Class 5A No. 1 singles title last year, won the All-City Athletic Conference Tournament last week.

Madeline Hague, Sr., Crossings Christian: She placed third in No. 1 singles at Yukon’s tournament.

Anna Pasquali, Sr., Deer Creek: She claimed the No. 1 singles crown at Yukon’s tournament.

Boys track and field

Aidan Edwards, Jr., Mustang: He won the 300-meter hurdles (38.47 seconds) and placed second in the 110 hurdles (14.50) at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference meet Thursday in Yukon.

Xavier Simpkins, Sr., Westmoore: He won the 110 hurdles in 14.41 at the COAC meet.

Kanijal Thomas, Sr., Del City: The Kansas State football signee won the 200 in 21.89 at Carl Albert’s meet Friday. He also helped Del City claim victories in the 4x200 (1:30.33) and 4x400 (3:26.50).

Girls track and field

Chloe Ezell, Sr., Edmond Memorial: She had a great day at the COAC meet, winning the 800 (2:14.84) and placing third in the 400 (58.99). She was also a part of Edmond Memorial’s 4x800 and 4x400 relay teams that placed first and second with times of 9:35.92 and 4:00.69, respectively.

Chloe Threatt, So., John Marshall: She won the 100 (12.09) and 200 (25.07) at Carl Albert’s meet.

Inara Ukawuba, Jr., Edmond North: She had a busy day at the COAC meet as she placed second in the 100 hurdles (14.37) and 300 hurdles (46.55), fourth in the 100 (12.65) and helped Edmond North place fifth in the 4x100 relay (51.09).
