Vote: The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week poll for Jan. 3-9

Voting is open for the oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for Jan. 3-9.

The poll closes at noon Friday. This week’s ballot includes nominees for boys basketball, girls basketball, swimming and wrestling.

Boys basketball

Evan Barber, Sr., Westmoore: The Jaguars’ floor general led them to a first-place finish in the Putnam City Invitational. Barber averaged 22 points per game and 3.3 assists per game in the tournament. The UCO commit went 14 for 14 from the free-throw line and 14 for 25 from 3-point range.

Clyde Davis Jr., So., Deer Creek: Davis scored in double digits against Del City and Edmond Santa Fe as Deer Creek won the McGuinness Classic. He had a game-high 15 points in the finals and made the free throws that sealed the victory over the Wolves. The sophomore guard also averaged 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the tournament.

Jordan England, Sr., Carl Albert: England was the MVP as Carl Albert won the Bartlesville Invitational. The senior guard had 10 assists throughout the tournament and averaged 18 points per game. He went 8 for 8 at the free-throw line and 52% from 3-point range.

Girls basketball

Landry Allen, Sr., Tuttle: The Sooners commit led the Tigers to a Weatherford Invitational championship. She was named the Tournament MVP after averaging 14.0 points, nine rebounds and five blocks a game. She had a triple-double in the semifinal and a double-double in the championship.

Keziah Lofton, So., Bethany: A Sooners commit, Lofton earned the Most Valuable Player award for the Charles K. Heatly Classic. Lofton averaged 21.0 points, seven steals, five assists and six rebounds to lead the Broncos to a championship title.

Laci Steele, Sr., Edmond North: The NC State commit, Steele put together some of the biggest scoring performances of the season to lead the Huskies to Putnam City Invitational Championship. Steele scored 27 points in the quarterfinal, 31 in the semifinal and 26 in the championship game.

Boys swimming

Clayton Berg, Sr., Yukon: He had a great day at the Metro Senior Classic on Saturday at Edmond Public Schools Aquatic Center, winning the 100-yard butterfly in 55.22 seconds and helping Yukon earn victories in the 200 freestyle relay (1:37.58) and 400 freestyle relay (3:38.69).

Cameron Sein, Jr., Deer Creek: He was dominant at the Metro Senior Classic. Sein won the 50 freestyle (22.30) and 100 freestyle (50.86) and also helped Deer Creek finish in a tie for first in the 200 medley relay (1:49.17).

Brody White, Sr., Mustang: He won the 200 individual medley in 2:22.76 at the Metro Senior Classic.

Girls swimming

Sydney Brown, Sr., Mount St. Mary: She earned victories in the 200 freestyle (2:12.28) and 500 freestyle (5:53.38) at the Metro Senior Classic.

Macy Lewis, Jr., McGuinness: One of the state’s top swimmers, Lewis won the 100 backstroke (58.75) and 100 butterfly (59.93) at the Metro Senior Classic.

Maddy Lu, Jr., Casady: She won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.89 at the Metro Senior Classic.

Boys wrestling

Eli Kirk, Sr., Guthrie: He claimed the 126-pound championship at the Cushing Tiger Invitational over the weekend.

Layton Schneider, Jr., Edmond North: He won the 144-pound title at the prestigious Geary Invitational on Saturday and helped the Huskies place second in the team standings.

Sam Smith, Sr., Stillwater: The Oklahoma State signee and son of Cowboys coach John Smith won the 120-pound crown at the Geary Invitational. Smith helped Stillwater capture the team title and was given the Bob Stegall Outstanding Wrestler award. In the finals, he earned a 10-2 major decision over Piedmont junior Cash Donnell, who went undefeated last year.

Girls wrestling

Cattie Crum, Fr., Kingfisher: She won the 120-pound championship Monday at the Western Conference Tournament in Cache.

Addison Morse, Fr., Harrah: She claimed the 105-pound title at the Western Conference Tournament.

Trinity Rakestraw, So., Tecumseh: Another champion from the Western Conference Tournament, she was the winner at 125 pounds.
