Vote: The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week for Jan. 10-16 in basketball, swimming and wrestling

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for Jan. 10-16.

The deadline is noon Wednesday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Please be aware: The Oklahoman's voting system only recognizes one vote per WiFi IP address, so consider taking your phone off WiFi to vote each hour if you're sharing it with multiple people.

Boys basketball

Jase Edwards, So., Tecumseh: Edwards had a big week, including a 34-point outing in a victory against 3A eighth-ranked Jones. He also had 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Shawnee.

Chase Sucharda, Jr., Newcastle: Sucharda lit it up for the Racers in a big victory against Chickasha. He finished with 29 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 29-point victory.

Dylan Warlick, So., Edmond North: Warlick is becoming one of the best forwards in the state. Last week, he had 21 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in a win against Moore and followed that up with 33 points on 15-of-16 shooting, 15 rebounds and three blocks against Deer Creek. He's averaging 22 and 12 on the season.

Girls basketball

Jaiana Wiggins, Sr., Crooked Oak: Wiggins averaged an outstanding 28.5 points per game on 80.5 percent shooting in Crooked Oak’s wins over Wynnewood and Capitol Hill. The senior also grabbed 20 rebounds, eight steals and six blocks. Wiggins has helped Crooked Oak to a 10-2 record this season.

Randi Harding, Sr., Mustang: Harding scored 21 points, grabbed two rebounds and a steal and assist each in Mustang’s win over Westmoore. Harding picked up a scholarship offer from Murray State College in the process. Mustang is 9-3 on the season.

Boston Berry, Jr., Jones: Berry put in 18 points, three rebounds and an assist to help pull out a close win over Tecumseh. The Class 3A defending state champions are 8-3 on the season and Berry has played a major role for the Longhorns.

Boys swimming

Reed Clymer, Sr., Norman North: He helped Norman North win its meet Tuesday against Norman and Stillwater, earning victories in the 100-yard butterfly (57.07 seconds), 100 breaststroke (1:05.44) and 200 medley relay (1:49.89).

Carson Dolezal, Jr., Edmond Memorial: He won the 100 butterfly with a time of 55.43 at Tuesday’s meet in Edmond that included all three Edmond schools, Carl Albert, Casady, Deer Creek, Heritage Hall, Midwest City and Shawnee.

Ryan Healy, Jr., Edmond North: He led Edmond North to a victory at Tuesday’s meet in Edmond, winning the 100 freestyle (48.11) and 200 freestyle (1:44.34). He also helped Edmond North win the 400 freestyle relay (3:24.29).

Girls swimming

Eastyn DeYoung, Sr., Deer Creek: She won the 500 freestyle (6:05.02) by 0.21 seconds and helped Deer Creek place third at Tuesday’s meet in Edmond.

Miriam Finch, Sr., Stillwater: She placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:09.80) and 500 freestyle (5:42.61) in a meet against the Norman schools Tuesday. She also helped Stillwater win the 200 medley relay (2:02.13) and 400 freestyle relay (4:04.31) as the Pioneers earned the team victory.

Madison Lu, So., Casady: She won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.09) at Tuesday’s meet in Edmond.

Oklahoma high school wrestling: Guthrie tops the field at Malcolm Wade Memorial Tournament

Boys wrestling

EJ Beloncik, Jr., Heritage Hall: The defending Class 4A 160-pound state champion won the Western Conference Tournament last week at Kingfisher after pinning Woodward’s Brad Holloway in the finals.

John Roberts, Jr., Oklahoma Christian School: He pinned Cordell’s Gage Miller in the Western Conference finals for the 182-pound crown.

Christian Rowland, Sr., Mustang: He won the heavyweight title at the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference Tournament at Southmoore on Saturday. Rowland, the defending 6A state champion, pinned Edmond Santa Fe’s Adley Bufford in the finals.

Girls wrestling

Sorrell Hurd, Fr., Del City: Hurd, who claimed the junior high heavyweight state title last year, won at the Malcolm Wade Memorial Tournament at Carl Albert on Saturday.

Addyson Lindsey, Sr., Norman: She claimed the 235-pound championship at the COAC Tournament, beating Moore’s Isabella Noisey 2-0 in the finals.

Aubrianna Smith, Jr., Westmoore: The Stillwater transfer was stellar at the COAC Tournament and won the 132-pound title.
