Vote: The Oklahoman's high school athletes of the week poll for March 20-27

Voting is open for the next oklahoman.com high school athlete of the week ballot for March 20-27.

The deadline is noon Friday. Athlete of the week voting occurs each week during all high school sports seasons and recognizes athletes across all sports. This ballot includes baseball, golf, slowpitch softball, soccer, tennis and track and field.

Baseball

Josh Errico, Sr., Edmond Memorial: Errico batted .636 with two doubles and one triple on the week. He also scored eight runs and stole three bases as Edmond Memorial went 4-1.

Ramon Nieto, Sr., Northwest Classen: Nieto recorded the game-winning hit in the All-City Athletic Conference championship game while also pitching a complete game with 14 strikeouts and three hits allowed. The senior went 4-for-6 from the plate with one home run and one double with six RBI.

Trace Redwine, Jr., Norman: Redwine tallied five hits last week and recorded a win on the mound. He put in five RBI and eight runs scored. He’s batting .406 on the season.

Boys golf

Preston Albee, So., Choctaw: Just a couple of weeks after playing in the state basketball semifinals, Albee rolled into golf season with a first-place finish at the Southmoore Tournament. His score of 71 helped Choctaw place third.

Collin Bond, Jr., Community Christian: The Oklahoma State commit continued to boost his resume, winning the Hefner Tournament on Thursday with a 69.

Luca Dunnington, So., Classen SAS: With a 75, Dunnington claimed the individual title at the All-City Athletic Conference Championship, leading the Comets to a first-place finish.

Girls golf

Rylan Ashley, Sr., Carl Albert: The Titans won the Lawton MacArthur Invitational, and Ashley was Carl Albert’s top individual. The Rogers State signee recorded a 78 to place second.

Syrah Javed, Jr., Norman North: Javed claimed the individual title at the Southmoore Tournament last week with a 77.

Semony Shah, Sr., Classen SAS: Shah led the Comets as their only senior, finishing first with an 84 at the All-City Athletic Conference Championship. Classen SAS won the tournament.

Boys soccer

Aidan Hale, Fr., Mustang: Hale added three goals and an assist as Mustang defeated Enid and Norman last week with a goal differential of 8-1.

Kabl Kahkesh, Sr., Edmond Memorial: Kahkesh scored a goal in Edmond Memorial’s 2-1 victory against Norman North on Tuesday. Then he had two in a 7-2 win over Edmond North on Friday.

Ramon Trina, Sr., Crooked Oak: Trina registered a hat trick as Crooked Oak surged past Classen SAS, 6-0, on Tuesday.

Girls soccer

Katie Johnston, So., Bishop McGuinness: Johnston provided two goals and one assist as Bishop McGuinness faced two out-of-state opponents, shutting out Bishop Carroll and Kaupan Mt. Carmel. She has 14 goals on the season.

Rylee McLanahan, Fr., Edmond North: McLanahan accounted for both goals in Edmond North’s win over Edmond Memorial on Friday. She also had two goals Tuesday as the Huskies defeated Tulsa Booker T. Washington, 5-1.

Kayden Murphy, Sr., Carl Albert: The team captain poured in five goals as Carl Albert won the Titans Championship last week.

Slowpitch softball

Eden Anderson, Jr., Mustang: Anderson hit three home runs against Moore with nine RBI. The Broncos are undefeated at 5-0 on the season.

Ava Hebensperger, So., Guthrie: Hebensperger batted .591 with five doubles, one triple and one home run with 13 RBIs and 10 runs. Guthrie went 6-2 in the week.

Karsen Griggs, Jr., Dale: Griggs batted 16-of-25 with nine home runs, 19 RBI and four doubles. The Pirates went 8-2 in the week.

Boys tennis

Luke Bishop, So., Edmond Memorial: He claimed the No. 1 singles championship at the Deer Creek Tournament last week. Bishop defeated Tulsa Union’s Mario Pacilio in the title match and helped Edmond Memorial win the team title.

Tage Rex, Sr., Norman North: He was the runner-up in No. 2 singles at the Deer Creek Tournament.

Girls tennis

Lauren Krise, So., Edmond Memorial: She won the No. 1 singles title at the Deer Creek Tournament after beating Broken Arrow’s London Walker in the finals.

Paige Ludlam, Sr., Deer Creek: Ludlam and her playing partner, Sindhya Atturu, rolled at their home tournament, winning the No. 1 doubles crown. Their victory helped Deer Creek claim the team title.

Boys track

Kolton Bennett, Jr., Westmoore: He won the 400-meter race in 51.35 seconds at Choctaw’s meet Friday.

Graham Mitchell, Jr., Deer Creek: He won the 3,200 in 9:26.50 at Edmond Memorial’s meet Friday.

Heston Thompson, Jr., Stillwater: He won the 100 (10.99) and helped Stillwater place first in the 4x100 (43.03) at the Bartlesville meet on Friday.

Girls track

Zoey Battles, Jr., Edmond Santa Fe: She won the 200 (25.72) and placed second in the 100 (12.68) at Edmond Memorial’s meet. She also helped Edmond Santa Fe place second in the 4x100 relay (49.78).

Kristen Kirk, Jr., Choctaw: She won the 800 in 2:30.99 at her home meet on Friday.

Kassidi Watkins, So., Mustang: She won the 100 (12.61) and long jump (18-07.50) at Edmond Memorial’s meet.
