It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who determine who will be the Player of the Week for Feb. 7-Feb. 13. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

Martin Carey

Two more first-place finishes for the Webster Thomas senior at a Monroe County league meet. Carey topped a field of 25 in the shot put (43 feet-6 inches) and 28 in the weight throw (60-3 3/4). He leads the Section V weight throw leaderboard.

Jack Chapman

The Canandaigua senior won the 200 IM, the 500 freestyle and was part of the winning 200 medley relay team to help Canandaigua win the Section V Class B swimming championship.

Andrea Hurtado-Trejo

This past weekend was another good one for the indoor track standout, a senior at Williamson. A week before the sectional championships, Hurtado-Trejo ran the fastest 55-meter dash (7.45) among sprinters in Section V Class A3, plus won the 300 and certainly was a key member of Williamson's winning 800 relay during a Wayne-Finger Lakes League meet at Houghton College.

Amaia Jackson

The Bishop Kearney freshman had 66 points, 19 rebounds and 16 steals in three wins for the Kings last week.

Colin McCulley

Back early from an ACL tear in the summer, McCulley made a mark immediately. He had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in a win over Byron-Bergen, and scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter of a non-league win at Section VI Medina. Notre Dame Batavia is 15-3.

Phil Nwugwo

The Victor senior led the Blue Devils to a third straight Monroe County Division I title this week. Nwugwo, who stands at 6-foot-6, dropped 14 points against Irondequoit on Wednesday, and scored 20 against Webster Schroeder on Friday. Victor is 18-1.

Jayden Scott

Rush-Henrietta senior earned his fourth trip to the high school wrestling state championships by winning his Division I or large schools 145-pound weight class at SuperSectionals. Scott, who has committed to wrestle at University of North Carolina, is undefeated this season after 25 matches.
