Player of the Week: You voted, here's the Athens-area's Week 8 Player of the Week
Commerce football's Jacarri Huff earned more than 50% of the voting and is the Athens-area's Week 8 high school football player of the week.
Huff garnered 52.1% and led Bailey Stockton (23.7%) and Dominic Elder, Jr. (17.9%).
In Commerce’s 24-21 victory over Social Circle, Huff rushed for a touchdown, returned a fumble for a touchdown and recorded an interception in overtime.
The Athens-area high school football player of the week will continue throughout the regular season.

Navy Curry, Athens Christian
In Athens Christian’s 49-35 victory over Oglethorpe County, Curry passed for 300 yards, ran for a touchdown and returned a kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown.
Dominic Elder, North Oconee
In North Oconee’s 55-12 victory over Cedar Shoals, Elder rushed for two touchdowns.
T.J. Finch, Athens Christian
In Athens Christian’s 49-35 victory over Oglethorpe County, Finch had 255 rushing yards, four touchdowns and 10 tackles.
Tyreeck Hall, Winder-Barrow
In Winder-Barrow’s 20-17 victory over Flowery Branch, Hall scored on a 50-yard run and returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown.

In Madison County’s 33-24 victory over North Hall, Ramsey rushed for two touchdowns.

In Prince Avenue Christian's 42-35 win over The Baylor School (TN), Stockton had 8 catches for 1 yards and two touchdowns a blocked field goal and an 80 yard kickoff return.
Whit Weeks, Oconee County
In Oconee County’s 31-14 victory over Hart County, Weeks ran for two touchdowns.
Max Wilson, North Oconee
