Nevada's Case Sanderson voted as News-Leader's Week 9 high school football player of the week

Nevada Tigers Case Sanderson runs the ball during a game against the Springfield Catholic Fightin' Irish at Catholic on Friday, Aug. 26, 2022.

In perhaps the week's most shocking result, Nevada used a game from one of its best players to come away with an upset.

Nevada's Case Sanderson rushed for 146 yards and four touchdowns on just 10 carries in a 49-14 win over previously-unbeaten Seneca.

Sanderson, a Nebraska baseball commit, was one of three Tigers to rush for over 100 yards in the victory. He is the second Nevada player to be voted as the News-Leader's player of the week this season along with Cade Beshore who earned the honor in Week 3.

Nevada is one of the best teams in the area heading into the postseason. The Tigers have a home game against Harrisonville (4-5) to begin the Class 4, District 7 playoffs.
