Receiving more than 40 percent of this week's fan vote, Coastal Christian's Darcey Kate Britt is the winner of the latest StarNews Athlete of the Week Poll.
Britt had a career-night Friday, falling just one point shy of the school record with 34 in a 56-43 win over Fayetteville Academy. Britt also had 10 steals and four assists in the victory.

Anya Massey, Hoggard girls basketball: Massey had a terrific as the Vikings took over first place in the Mideastern Conference. The junior point guard averaged 16 points, 5.5 assists and five rebounds in blowout wins over North Brunswick and New Hanover.
Rodmik Allen, New Hanover boys basketball: The Wildcats' freshman point guard continues to improve with every week, and Allen helped New Hanover earn critical Mideastern Conference victories over Laney and Hoggard this week. He averaged 10 points, 4.7 rebounds and three assists while playing terrific defense.
Tristen DeLeon, Topsail boys swimming and diving: DeLeon won the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke at a Mideastern Conference meet against New Hanover Thursday. He also swam the backstroke leg on the winning 200 medley relay and a leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay.
