The spring high school sports season has begun, and there are Mid-Valley athletes to recognize for their performances.

This week’s Statesman Journal Athlete of the Week nominees are:

  • Kadence Morrison, Dallas/Perrydale softball

  • Grant Strother, Sprague baseball

  • Ava Pilgrim, West Salem softball
