The high school sports winter season is in full swing with Mid-Valley athletes continuing to turn in strong performances.

This week’s Athlete of the Week nominees are:

  • Cole Steketee, Sprague wrestling

  • Sully Hill, Dallas wrestling

  • Brezlyn Schwalm, McKay basketball

  • Sadie Paterson, South Salem basketball

There is information below on each nominee. Vote for the athlete you think is most deserving. The poll closes at noon Thursday.

Cole Steketee, Sprague wrestling: He went 5-0 at the Tyrone S. Woods Memorial Tournament at Oregon City, winning every match by pin.

Brezlyn Schwalm, McKay basketball: Against North Salem, she led the team with 27 points in the win, and against Reynolds, she led the team with 26 points, six rebounds, and two steals in the win.

Sadie Paterson, South Salem.

Sadie Paterson, South Salem basketball: She had 18 points, five assists and six steals in the Saxons’ win against McMinnville.

Sully Hill, Dallas.

Sully Hill, Dallas wrestling: He won all three matches against Lebanon, South Albany and Sweet Home.
