Vote for TCPalm's Athlete of the Week for Aug. 22-Sep. 3
TCPalm's first Athlete of the Week poll for the 2022-23 school year has arrived and although it's very early, several athletes have already put together impressive performances across multiple sports.
Coaches can email scores to bcooney@gannett.com or TCsports@tcpalm.com each night in order for athletes to be considered to be nominated each week.
Throughout the school year, Athlete of the Week voting will begin at noon Monday and will close Thursday at noon with few exceptions taking place on holiday weeks in which voting will begin on Tuesdays and commence on Friday as it will this week.
Voting is restricted to once per device an hour.
Luyeisy Marquez-Moreno, Fort Pierce Central
Through nine matches on the season, Marquez-Moreno has amassed 113 kills and 62 digs with her best performance coming on Aug. 24 where she had 24 kills and 11 digs in a five-set win over South Fork.
Madison Gravlee, Vero Beach
Gravlee posted a team-high 19 kills and added six digs in a three-set sweep for South Fork on Aug. 23 and added 24 kills in a four-set loss to Jupiter on Aug. 30.
Lindsay Walch, Jensen Beach
Through 10 matches on the season, Walch has totaled 101 kills including a high of 19 against Hagerty on Sep. 3 and helped the Falcons win the Titanium Division of the Nike Tournament of Champions this past weekend.
Addison Boyer, South Fork
Boyer picked up right where she left off last year by running a time of 18:39.80 to win the Park Vista Cobra Invitational on Aug. 27.
Jacey Lane, Lincoln Park Academy
Lane ran a personal best time of 20:09.40 to win the Centennial XC Invite on Aug. 24 and added a second race victory at the Wayne Cross Invitational on Aug. 31 with a time of 20:37.6.
Nicholas Colbert, Jensen Beach
Colbert ran a personal best time of 16:19.20 to win the Centennial XC Invite on Aug. 24.
Jackson Hiller, Vero Beach
Hiller is off to a strong start in his senior season first shooting a round of 74 and a nine-hole round of 37 to lead Vero at the Wolverines vs. the World tournament on Aug. 26-27 in Orlando. He then finished in a tie for 18th at the Brophy Rodeo National High School Tournament in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Sep. 2-3 after shooting rounds of 78 and a 2-under 70.
Pavel Anisimov, John Carroll Catholic
Anisimov finished second overall at the Al Griffith St. Lucie County Golf Championship on Aug. 31, shooting a 4-over 75 helping the Rams win the team title. He also added a 2-over round of 38 in a match win against St. Edward’s on Sep. 1.
Jaden Peterson, Lincoln Park Academy
Peterson was the medalist at the Al Griffith St. Lucie County Golf Championship on Aug. 31, shooting a 1-over round of 73 at Fairwinds Golf Course, helping the Greyhounds finish in second as a team. He also shot a 1-over 37 in a tri-match win for the Greyhounds against Treasure Coast and Port St. Lucie on Aug. 24.
Saphira Vath, Sebastian River
Vath carded a 1-over 37 in the Sharks’ match against South Fork on Sep. 1.
Lily Boulter, South Fork
Boulter had two nine-hole rounds of 38, first in a match win over Treasure Coast on Aug. 30 and then in the Bulldogs’ match win against Sebastian River on Sep. 1.
Dounia Bezzari, Vero Beach
Carded a 37 in Vero’s match victory against South Fork on Aug. 25.
Charlie Passanante, Fort Pierce Central
Bowled a 279 game to lead the Cobras to a match win against Sebastian River on Aug. 23.
John Pedigo, Martin County
Bowled a 257 game in the Tigers’ loss to Vero Beach on Aug. 23
Emilia Koehler, Martin County
Bowled a 198 game to lead the Tigers to a match win over Vero Beach on Aug. 23 and 176 game to lead the Tigers to a match win over Lincoln Park Academy on Aug. 25.
