The Burlington School's Zariah Burns is the Times-News Athlete of the Week for Jan. 10-16, as determined by a fan vote.

Burns provided the Spartans girls' basketball team with 11 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 57-41 victory against Ravenscroft, then totaled 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists in a 69-51 victory against Charlotte Country Day.

Two high school athletes from Alamance County teams produced impressive individual performances the week of Jan. 10-16, making them candidates for the Times-News Athlete of the Week award.

The senior for the Spartans girls' basketball team poured in 11 points, five rebounds and two assists in a 57-41 victory against Ravenscroft. In a 69-51 victory against Charlotte Country Day, she tallied 14 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.

Kenan King, Williams

The senior for the Bulldogs boys' basketball team registered 13 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal in a 57-22 victory against Cedar Ridge.
