Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman boys and girls track and field athlete of the week contests.

Polls close at noon Wednesday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. It is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Jacob Webster, Centennial: Broke a 35-year-old school record in the 200 meters (21.60 seconds) for a first-place finish at the Bandanna Invite. He ran 5A’s best 100 (10.80) and 200 at the meet. And he was part of the all-class leading 4x100 relay (42.67).

Landon Heemeyer, Rocky Mountain: Became the first Idahoan this season to crack the 9-minute barrier in the 3,200 to take third at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays in Portland at 8:59.57.

Seth Nelson, Boise: Ranks 10th in the nation after clearing 16 feet, 5 inches to win the pole vault at the Legends Invitational in Walla Walla, Washington.

Tyson Acree, Meridian: Took over the all-class state lead in the long jump with a mark of 23-9 at the Bandanna Invite.

Ethan Hammer, Columbia: Topped 15-1 to win the pole vault at the Knight Invite, the top mark in 4A and second best in all of Idaho.

Alex Lowe, Timberline: Won the high jump at the Bandanna Invite at 6-4, which is tied for the best 5A mark in Idaho this year.

Ayden Martinez, Skyview: Broke the 11-second barrier to win the 100 at the Skyview Invite at 10.94 seconds. That’s the second best time at the 4A level this year.

Augustas Haynes, Ridgevue: Swept the 110 (14.90) and 300 hurdles (40.40) at the Bandanna Invite.

Brayden Walker, Weiser: Took over the 3A lead in the 300 hurdles with a first-place finish of 40.16 seconds at the SRV District meet. He also ran a leg of 3A’s top 4x400 (3:32.92).

McKoy Richardson, Melba: Ran the 2A classification’s fastest 100 hurdles (15.05) at a four-team meet in Kuna.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Adrienne Russell, Boise: Unleashed the fifth best javelin throw in the country this season (152 feet, 7 inches) for a first-place finish at the Legends Invitational in Walla Walla, Washington.

Christine Huckins, Skyview: The freshman ran an all-class leading 100-meter time of 12.14 seconds for one of her three first-place finishes at the Skyview Invitational.

Kendall Clark, Melba: Added to her all-class lead in the triple jump with a mark of 37-1 at a four-team meet in Kuna.

Ciara Brown, Rocky Mountain: Brought home four gold medals from the Bandanna Invite, winning the 100 (12.41), 200 (25.96) and 400 (59.51) while running a leg of an all-class leading 4x100 (48.88).

Audrey Chitwood, Mountain View: Took first place in the 800 (2:18.93) and 1,600 (5:03.08) at the Bandanna Invite.

Adeline Wimer, Columbia: Captured first-place finishes in the 200 (25.87) and 400 (57.34) at the Knight Invite.

Kylee Quinton, Weiser: Set a new 3A-leading mark in the 800 (2:19.18) and took home three first-place finishes at a 3A SRV meet. Her 300 hurdles time (48.67) and medley relay team (1:56.24) rank second in 3A.

Lydia Lindsey, Fruitland: Won four first-place medals at the 3A SRV meet, finishing first in the 100 (12.68), 200 (25.90), long jump (17-3.75) and medley relay (1:54.92).

Anna Dixon, Greenleaf: Swept the 1,600 and 3,200 at the Skyview Invitational. Her 1,600 time (5:12.23) leads the 1A classification, and her 3,200 time (11:46.73) ranks second.

Taliah Rogers, Victory Charter: Set new school records in the 400 (1:02.42) and 800 (2:25.56) last week.
