Help us choose the best of the best in the latest Idaho Statesman boys and girls track and field athlete of the week contests.

Polls close at noon Wednesday. Read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

You can vote multiple times. This is meant to be a fun way to show support for athletes. It is not meant to be scientific.

Nominations are submitted by area coaches or taken from stats reported to the Idaho Statesman.

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD

Lauren McCall, Timberline: Set a new state-leading time in the 300 hurdles at 43.70 seconds to finish fourth at the Oregon Relays.

Ciara Brown, Rocky Mountain: Set a new 5A-leading time in the 200 (25.67) and ran the third fastest 100 (12.33) in all of Idaho in a dual with Middleton.

Grace Lanfear, Boise: Earned three gold medals at the Brave-Storm Meet, finishing first the 100 hurdles (15.46), the triple jump (33-11) and leading the 4x100 team (49.86).

Tatum Richards, Emmett: Cleared 11-11.75 in the pole vault at the Oregon Relays — the top mark at the 4A level and third overall statewide.

Kaylee Wuest, Ridgevue: Unleashed the best discus throw (123-11) at the 4A level at the 4A SIC Showdown in Emmett.

Maren Hansen, Tri-Valley: Swept the shot put (37-9) and discus (112-1) at the Lynn Behrman Invite in Parma. Her shot put throw ranks eighth overall statewide.

Kailee Lerew, Weiser: Ran 3A’s fastest 400 (1:01.01) to win the Lynn Behrman Invite. She also led her team to a gold medal in the 4x400 (4:15.59).

Kendall Clark, Melba: Won the triple jump (36-8.5) at the DirectCom Invitational in Pocatello, and led the Mustangs’ 4x200 relay to a win and a new 2A-leading time (1:47.68).

Lydia Lindsey, Fruitland: Brought home three first-place finishes from the Lynn Behrman Invite, winning the 100 (12.72) and leading the Grizzlies’ first-place 4x100 (50.50) and short medley relay (1:55.76) teams.

Kinlee Garrett, Homedale: Swept the 100 hurdles (15.94) and 300 hurdles (49.42) at the Lynn Behrman Invite. Both were personal records.

BOYS TRACK & FIELD

Kai Twaddle-Dunham, Centennial: Won the discus at the Oregon Relays with a throw of 166-3.75. He also finished sixth in the shot put (50-9.5).

Tyler Sainsbury, Rocky Mountain: Set a new state-leading time of 1:52.90 in the 800 in a dual with Middleton.

Brody Backus, Idaho City: Became the 1A leader in the discus and ranks fourth overall across the state after a throw of 168-5 at the Meridian Thrower Meet.

Loyd Boren, Rimrock: Set a new meet record in the 1,600 (4:46.30) at the Barry Espil Meet in Murtaugh. He then set a personal record in the event by finishing second at the Lynn Behrman Invite at 4:43.22.

Ethan Hammer, Columbia: Cleared 14-7 for the best pole vault mark at the 4A level this season, and the third best overall in the state.

Bryson Blaser, Centennial: Led Centennial’s 4x800 relay team to the state’s best time this season (8:05.65) at the Oregon Relays. He also ran the state’s sixth best 1,600 (4:16.96) at the meet.

Andrew Ringert, Eagle: Ran the second-best 3,200 time (9:13.74) for all Idahoans at the Oregon Relays.

Brayden Walker, Weiser: Led the Wolverines to 3A’s fastest 4x400 time (3:34.56) while adding the classification’s second best 400 (52.04) at the Lynn Behrman Invite.

Braden Ankeny, Marsing: Swept the 100 (11.23) and 400 (51.81) at the Lynn Behrman Invite in Parma. His 100 time is the best at the 2A level this season.

Kayden Gibbs, Victory Charter: Set a new 1A-leading time in the 300 hurdles (41.92) at the Don Walker Invite in Nyssa, Oregon.
