Update: Athlete of the week, Golden West's Teyanna Burrell
Golden West High School girls basketball player Teyanna Burrell was voted by readers as the Visalia Times-Delta Tulare County prep athlete of the week.
In an online poll that closed on Dec. 9, Burrell received 3,944 votes, or a 46.1% majority, of the 8,591 responses.
Burrell averaged 20 points and 15.2 rebounds during a five-game stretch, including an outstanding 26-point, 23-rebound effort in a win over Corcoran.

Angel Anaya, wrestling, Tulare Union: Anaya registered a victory in a dual-meet duel against El Diamante.
Teyanna Burrell, girls basketball, Golden West: Burrell averaged 20 points and 15.2 rebounds in five games last week, including an outstanding 26-point, 23-rebound effort in a win over Corcoran.
Augusto De Castro, boys basketball, Exeter: De Castro generated a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in a win versus Granite Hills.
Kaine Garcia, boys basketball, Tulare Western: Garcia canned 12 points in a non-league game versus Porterville.
Anthony Jackson, boys basketball, Mission Oak: Jackson had a double-double, tallying 23 points, 10 rebounds, eight steals, an assist and a block to lead the Hawks to a victory over Foothill-Bakersfield.
Erik Odsather, boys basketball, Porterville: Odsather scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Panthers to a 64-53 win over Tulare Western.
Justin Stroud, boys basketball, Central Valley Christian: Stroud registered a double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists in a 63-53 win over Fresno Christian.
Javier Torres, boys basketball, Dinuba: Torres erupted for 30 points to lead the Emperors to a non-league victory against Immanuel. He also had four rebounds and four assists.

All high school varsity players from Tulare County are eligible to be on the ballot. Nominations must be received for consideration by Monday morning following that week's games.
