Vote for the Tuscaloosa area boys high school sports athlete of the week

There were several top performers in Tuscaloosa area boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week.

TOP PERFORMERS:Tuscaloosa-area high school top performers for winter sports

Julian Whitfield, Holt basketball: Scored 16 points in a 61-31 win over Holy Spirit and 25 points in a 64-61 win over Oakman.

Joseph Jones, Holy Spirit basketball: Scored 20 points in a 63-34 win over the Westminster School and 13 points in a 4-36 win vs. Thorsby.

Gehrig Donaldson, Brookwood basketball: Scored 16 points in a 64-56 loss to Central.

Javion Taylor, Central basketball: Scored 15 points in a 57-52 loss vs. Hoover and 29 points with five rebounds and four assists in a 64-56 win vs. Brookwood.

Brax Garrison, Gordo football: Threw three touchdown passes – covering 51, 25 and 28 yards – in a 44-14 victory over Lauderdale County.

Jordan Sterling, Aliceville football: Scored on a 40-yard pass reception and led the defense with three pass breakups and seven tackles in a 38-21 win vs. Falkville.

Patton Turnipseed, Tuscaloosa Academy football: Kicked the game-winning 52-yard field goal with three seconds remaining to lift the Knights to a 23-20 win against Lexington.

Korbit Sommerville, Pickens County football: Ran for two touchdowns and made a catch for another in a 44-36 win vs. Meek.
