This week's Varsity 845 Player of the Week poll is live. Finalists were chosen based on games played Jan. 10-16 and on information reported to the Times Herald-Record.

Finalists (listed alphabetically)

Alex Bastian, Chester

Bastian scored a team-high 24 points to keep Chester in the game during a tight 60-51 loss to Goshen. He also had 19 points in his team's 66-20 win over Eldred.

Calvin Crews, Port Jervis

Crews scored a game-high 27 points in his team's 54-48 win over Fallsburg on Jan. 10.

Jah'Likai King, Newburgh Free Academy

King scored a game-high 21 points in a 59-37 win over Middletown. The Goldbacks also defeated Kingston, where King had 25 points, six assists and six rebounds.

Ryan McCardle, Kingston

McCardle had a game-high 23 points in a 78-64 win over White Plains.

Pedro Rodriguez, Monticello

Monticello went 2-1 this week in large part to Rodriguez's play. In three games this week, Rodriguez averaged 15 points and three assists. He had 17 points, four assists and three steals in a win against Minisink Valley. Rodriguez added 22 points, five assists and three steals in a win over Sullivan West at the Fred Ahart Foundation Games in Roscoe.

Mat Shea, Wallkill

Shea notched his 1,000th career point in a 73-30 win over Highland, keeping his team undefeated at 11-0. During this game he had 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He had 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists in an 86-81 victory over Pine Bush.

Jerrell Taylor, Valley Central

Taylor guided Valley Central to a comeback 49-46 win over Cornwall, where he scored 17 points. He also contributed 22 points and 21 points in games against Pine Bush and Goshen in the last week.
