This week's Varsity 845 Player of the Week poll is live. Finalists were chosen based on games played Jan. 3-Jan. 9 and on information reported to the Times Herald-Record.

Finalists (listed alphabetically)

Alex Bastian, Chester

Bastian scored 24 points in a 77-26 win over Tri-Valley and added 12 points in an eight-point loss to Haldane (No. 5 in NY state).

Chris Cruz, Middletown

Cruz had a career-high 26 points in Middletown's 63-51 win over Valley Central.

Justin Hannibal, Goshen

Hannibal had a team-high 22 points in Goshen's 85-47 win over Port Jervis.

Kyle Krebs, Wallkill

Krebs was named tournament MVP of the Dick O'Neill Jingle Ball Classic after tallying 13 points, leading Wallkill to a 58-55 win over Monticello in the championship game.

Antwon Lewis, James I. O'Neill

Lewis scored 14 points in a game against Monticello and 29 facing New Paltz.

Michael Mingot, Monticello

Mingot notched a team-high 20 points and was named to the All-Tournament team in a loss to Wallkill at the Dick O'Neill Jingle Ball Classic championship. He also added 21 points in a loss to James I. O'Neill.

Jack O'Boyle, Burke Catholic

O'Boyle was a key piece of his team's success and averaged 20 points in three games as his team kept a winning streak alive. He scored 28 points in a 54-43 win over Minisink Valley. His 25 points led Burke Catholic to a 62-38 win over Port Jervis. He had 10 points in a 52-32 win over Fallsburg.

Ke'montae Thawe, Kingston

Thawe showed how he can impact a game in the clutch, after scoring 27 points, including seven in overtime, to lead Kingston to a 75-74 win over Shenendehowa. He also contributed 26 points in an 83-41 win over Warwick.
