Voter turnout on pace with primary elections in 2018

The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder says so far voter turnout this year is pretty much on pace with Primary Elections in 2018 and 2016. He says it is down slightly compared to 2020 but turnout is always expected to be higher during years with a Presidential Election. The most recent update from the state says about 430,000 Republican voters have returned their ballots and about 370,000 Democratic voters. You can expect the ballot drop-off to get even busier after 5:00 PM once people are off of work but that could mean we are left waiting a little bit longer to get results
