Voting by absentee ballot? Here are some dates to know

ALABAMA (WHNT) – Secretary of State Wes Allen wants to remind Alabamians of the upcoming absentee voting deadlines.

County absentee election managers need to receive mail-in absentee ballot applications by Tuesday, Feb. 27, while the deadline to submit them in person is Thursday, Feb. 29.

Sample ballots for the March 5, 2024 primary election

Once you receive your absentee ballot, you must return it in person by the end of business the day before the election, March 4. However, ballots returned by mail must be received no later than noon on March 5.

Voters still need to present a valid photo ID before voting by absentee ballot.
