Voting under way in The Globe's annual 'Best Of' contest

Sep. 13—WORTHINGTON — The nominations have been cast and it's now time for The Globe's readers to vote in the seventh annual Best Of contest.

More than 3,200 nominations were cast, identifying the best of the best in local businesses, service providers, community assets and food and drink. The Globe's advertising department has pared down the nominations to the Top 5 vote-getters in each category.

Now, it's time to take a look at the nominees and cast your votes.

"This is a celebration of our businesses," Globe Publisher Joni Harms said. "We're super excited that the community nominated their favorite businesses. We have a lot to be proud of, so give them some kudos."

This year's request for nominations received an overwhelming response, with more than five times the number of nominations as cast in 2022.

The Globe expanded the list of categories from 69 to 117, adding more service-oriented and specific food categories to the list, including best appetizer, taco, dessert, shoes, bartender, mechanic, dog groomer and meeting space.

"We are thrilled to see such great community support so far during the nomination phase," Globe Advertising Director Anna Rogers shared. "We cannot wait to see how voting turns out. Our local businesses deserve this recognition. Thank you to all who have participated so far!"

Voting begins today and continues through Oct. 8. Cast your votes by visiting
