VSP: Afton man killed in crash
AFTON — Virginia State Police said an Afton man was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash.
Police said units from Albemarle County Fire Rescue and the Albemarle County Police Department responded to a report of a crash in the 300 block of Ortman Road. The incident took place at about 8 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle, Roger Lee Durrette, 71, of Afton, died at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s Fatal Crash Reconstruction Team, the release said.
