Volkswagen revealed its coming ID. Buzz van in Southern California, and it looks quite promising. The interior has seating for either six or seven, depending on whether you get the middle bench or middle captain's chairs. Second- and third-row seats slide and fold flat, while the rear cargo area has a nice modular grocery storage area. The exterior looks a little too modern for those who fondly remember the original VW van with the split window, but it may appeal to buyers new to the family. Range is only around 260 miles, despite the Buzz's 91-kWh battery. Drivetrain choices are rear- or all-wheel-drive. Pricing is not out yet but may be - MAY BE - in the low 60s (just a guess). Look for it in showrooms in Q3 of 2024. Long way off.

The first electric vehicle I ever drove was a Tesla Roadster in 2011. It was with great anticipation that I slid behind the wheel of the 2025 Acura ZDX Type S. Sure, it's a midsize SUV, but it wears the Type S moniker, a name reserved only for the most fun-to-drive in the Acura stable. On launch, the ZDX will be available in A-Spec and Type S trims -- both of which come equipped with a 102 kWh battery.
