A-W football Titans blank A-V, move to 4-1

ABINGDON — Zeb Rashid’s three touchdowns led the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans to a 27-0 win over Abingdon-Avon Thursday night.

The game was scoreless in the first quarter, but early in the second Rashid ran 56 yards for the night’s first touchdown.

As time expired in the half, quarterback Dillon Horrie connected with Rashid for a 90-yard touchdown pass that made the score 14-0.

Horrie threw to Landon Sauer for a nine-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, while Rashid capped the scoring with a 27-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

The win gives the Titans a 4-1 season record heading into a Sept. 30 Annawan homecoming game against Knoxville.
