Waffle House looks to open new restaurant in Beulah. Here's what we know

If you’re a Beulah resident who loves Waffle House, the chain could potentially be expanding to a location closer to where you live.

Developers plan to build the new Waffle House at 6034 W. Nine Mile Road on a 0.75-acre parcel of previously undeveloped land, according to the project’s information form and site plan filed with Escambia County.

At this stage of the developer’s plans, the potential West Nine Mile Road Waffle House is intended to be a 2,000 square foot building with 33 parking spaces, according to the project’s site plan filed with Escambia County.

This potential new restaurant would be the Waffle House's the closest location to Beulah. Currently, the nearest location is at 8010 Lavelle Way, near the Pine Forest Road exit of Interstate 10.

There are 16 total Waffle Houses across Escambia County, but many of them are located outside of Northwest Pensacola. Waffle House has approximately 1,982 restaurants across the U.S., according to Waffle House's website.

Waffle House’s corporate offices are the listed owner and developer for the potential restaurant.

The project’s information form and site plan were filed for approval from Escambia County’s Development Review Committee on Nov. 11. The project has not been approved by the Development Review Committee yet, but its initial application was reviewed on Nov. 29.

The parcel was purchased for $495,000 in February last year by a different group named Pensacola Anytime Owner, LLC, according to the Escambia County Property appraiser’s website.
