Wagner PMC seeks to recruit gamers with no combat experience
Russian mercenary company Wagner is attempting to recruit gamers with little to no combat experience, hoping to deploy them as drone operators, according to Russian Telegram channel Vyorstka on June 19.
According to Vyorstka, Wagner used a VKontakte (Russian social media) bot to send messages to selected Russian citizens about its need for UAV operation and maintenance specialists. The advertisement stated that potential candidates should be between 21 and 35 years old, possess good computer skills, and be physically fit.
Having experience with joystick flight simulators or a gaming background would be an advantage, according to the post.

Journalists contacted a Wagner recruiter using the phone number provided in the ads. In addition to standard questions about age, criminal record, and health, the recruiter was interested in the type of devices the potential employee wanted to work with.
"We have two types of UAVs: copters and more advanced ones," the recruiter specified.
He also offered two work locations: Ukraine and Africa. The recruiter confirmed that no prior combat or military service experience is required for the position.
