Waka-waka- what??? A live-action Pac-Man film is coming to theaters
A live-action Pac-Man is coming to the big screen.
The classic arcade game from the ‘80s is getting its own movie, which is currently being developed by the game’s original company Bandai Namco Entertainment along with Justin Baldoni and Steve Sarowitz’s Wayfarer Studios.
The game follows Pac-Man, an insatiable yellow disk, as he devours his way through a maze while narrowly escaping the four colorful ghosts pursuing him.
Pac-Man previously inspired two television series in the U.S.: the Hanna-Barbera cartoon of the same name, which aired from 1982-1983, and Disney XD’s CG-animated “Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures,” which premiered in 2013. A live-action production of the two-dimensional character has yet to be seen.

The idea for the live-action Pac-Man hails from Lightbeam Entertainment’s Chuck Williams, who was also behind the live-action “Sonic the Hedgehog” movie based on another popular Japanese video game character.
Williams will produce the movie alongside Tim Kwok for Lightbeam, while Justin Baldoni, Manu Gargi and Andrew Calof produce on behalf of Wayfarer Studios.
