The Timberwolves game at Target Center on Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets has been postponed.

The decision comes after the Twins postponed their afternoon game against the Red Sox at Target Field following the fatal shooting of a Black motorist on Sunday.

Daunte Wright was shot during a traffic stop by an officer who, according to Brooklyn Center Police Chief Tim Gannon, deployed a service revolver instead of a Taser.

The Wolves were going to play without center Karl-Anthony Towns, whose family was to hold a private memorial for his mother Jacqueline to mark the one-year anniversary of her death from COVID-19, an anniversary that falls Tuesday.

The Wolves honored Jacqueline Towns at Sunday's win over the Bulls with a photo reel before the game and by having her jersey on an empty seat. Towns said he grew emotional during the national anthem and momentarily went into the tunnel before playing the game.

He scored 27 points and sank a deciding three-pointer with less than a minute to go with his father Karl Sr. seated courtside just a few feet away.
