Akron police are looking into whether two males — at least one armed with a gun — who robbed a Walgreens Saturday night are also responsible for other Firestone Park area robberies.

Police said the Walgreens in the 300 block of East Waterloo Road was robbed shortly before 7 p.m. A store clerk said two men — one with a handgun — came in, demanded money and ran out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robbers are described as males between the ages of 16 and 22, wearing all black or dark-colored clothing, according to Akron police.

Akron detectives said they believe the suspects in the Walgreens incident are the same pair responsible for other robberies in the area, Akron police said.

Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at 330-375-2490 or 330-375-2Tip; call the Summit County Crime Stoppers at 330-434-COPS; or text TIPSCO with tips to 274637. Callers can remain anonymous.
