Fear the Walking Dead is getting another character from the original Walking Dead series, as Dwight will be crossing over – and actor Austin Amelio is excited.

Amelio, who plays the former Savior, will be the second major character to make the jump and, speaking at a panel at Wizard World New Orleans, he said that he feels "blessed".

"For some reason, Dwight keeps getting blessed with the best of both worlds," he said (via ComicBook.com).

"I got to work with actors from Alexandria and the Saviors. Now I get to work with actors from Fear the Walking Dead. After a year and two months of being a really good secret keeper, that's really exciting. I get to work with everybody in this world.

Amelio added that he isn't sure how Dwight and Morgan (Lennie James) will come face-to-face, but pointed out that although they were both on the same side of The Walking Dead's all-out war against Negan, they haven't actually met yet.

"I know he's aware of me. We haven't met," he said.

Amelio hinted at the crossover just last month when he confirmed that Dwight was still alive and primed for a return to screens.

Fear the Walking Dead returns for its fifth season later this year on AMC in the US and on AMC on BT TV in the UK.
