Wallingford Schools Return To Regular Spectator Policy For Games

WALLINGFORD, CT — With COVID-19 rates dropping within the state and in Wallingford, the town’s high schools are returning to their regular spectator policy and allowing all spectators at winter athletic events, officials announced Monday.

The schools previously limited spectators for home athletic events to only immediate family members of rostered athletes.

The updated home game spectator policy was announced in a joint message from Lyman Hall Principal Joseph Corso, Sheehan Principal Enzo Zocco, Lyman Hall Athletic Director Steve Baker and Sheehan Athletic Director Chris Dailey.

As of today, January 24, 2022, we are returning to our regular spectator policy to allow all spectators at our winter athletic events. This decision was made as a result of dropping COVID rates within the state and our local community.

It is imperative that all spectators continue to adhere to mitigation measures mandated by the CIAC/CT DPH that continue to be in place in schools and school events including athletic competitions. As such, masks are required to be worn at all times during athletic events.

Masks need to cover the nose and the mouth. Masks will not be supplied and spectators must bring their own in order to attend events.

Spectators who are not wearing masks properly will be asked to leave if they cannot adhere to the requirement. Standard admission costs for athletic events apply.

We will continue to monitor community COVID rates in order to assess any potential impacts on school activities.
