Walmart in Belle Vernon evacuated due to bomb threat; no explosive devices located

Walmart in Belle Vernon was evacuated for a bomb threat on Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release from Rostraver Township police, first responders were called to the Walmart at 100 Sara Way at 2:05 p.m.

Store management received the threat over their internal communication devices, which they perceived as credible.

The store was evacuated and emergency services were requested to the scene to further investigate.

No explosive devices were found.

Police said the person reporting the bomb threat was an apparent ex-employee of the store who still had a portable radio.
