ROCKFORD — A “ReGrand Opening” celebration is planned for Friday and Saturday at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter, 3902 W. Riverside Blvd., on the city’s northwest side.

Enhancements include 15 additional self-checkout lanes, fresh paint, new fixtures and new signage throughout the store.

Online grocery pickup has been moved to what store officials said is a more convenient location.

“Our Rockford team worked very hard to make this remodel a success and we couldn’t be more excited to show off all the new food options and store improvements,” Walmart store manager Fabian Lehaney said in a news release. “We always want to help our customers save time and money and I’m sure they’ll be as happy as we are.”

Walmart customers also have the option of shopping online and picking up their groceries without leaving their cars. The store also offers express deliveries in under two hours and pharmacy curbside pickup.

The store’s celebration will last through Saturday and includes promotional tables, free samples and a fire truck display.
