Walmart expands associate-to-driver program

Jan. 20—The expansion of a development program will allow more Walmart workers to advance their careers.

Through the associate-to-driver program, Walmart is expanding its private fleet development program launched last year to include associates in stores, distribution centers, fulfillment centers and transportation offices within a 50-mile radius of a participating transportation office.

In Pennsylvania, there are transportation offices in Tobyhanna, Pottsville and Woodland meaning workers in the Taylor, Pittston Twp., Dickson City, Wilkes-Barre Twp., Texas Twp., Hazle Twp., Westfall Twp., and Eaton Twp. stores would be eligible.

Some Sam's Club supply chain associates may also qualify for the program.

After completing a 12-week training course and earning their commercial driver's license, they will have an opportunity to join Walmart private fleet earning up to $110,000 during their first year.
