There are a few holidays that are simply meant to be spent outside. You have Memorial Day as the first pool day of the year, and Labor Day as the last. But nothing quite measures up to the 4th of July. It reigns supreme as the most exciting holiday, thanks to the delicious grilling recipes, fun outdoor games, and sparkly fireworks exploding overhead. Did we mention catching up with family and friends at the beach? And what about sipping special red, white, or blue drinks to celebrate America's birthday? Not to mention the day off from work! All of it sounds just about heavenly.

Yet with any federal holiday, there's always a big ol' factor to take into account: Many businesses will also give their employees time off from work. In other words, there's a chance your usual go-to stores could be closed. Keeping this in mind as Sunday approaches, you might need to ask yourself a few practical questions: Have you stocked up on enough condiments and 4th of July desserts for the whole crew? Do you have enough 4th of July activities to keep the little ones busy? And last but certainly not least, which stores are open on the 4th of July? Specifically... is Walmart open on the 4th of July? 🤔

That last one just might be the most important question of all. After all, the solution to almost every other question on your list can be found within the superstore's aisles. For instance, if you're in need of a few last-minute groceries for your 4th of July menu, Walmart's got you covered. If you're looking for a pretty platter or a set of melamine plates, Ree's product line (also at Walmart!) is your best bet. If you need to grab a pool float or a few extra comfy towels, well...you know where to go!

So, is the superstore open on the big day? Turns out, it is: Walmart locations nationwide will be open on July 4th. According to a store representative, Walmart stores are closed on just two holidays—Christmas and Thanksgiving. Hours have yet to be announced, but last year, Walmart stores and Neighborhood Markets were open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pharmacy hours were also limited at many locations, so you'll want to double-check with your local store using Walmart's Store Finder tool.

Of course, if you can't get to Walmart on the big day, you can always shop online. Walmart.com is always open—and so many goodies from The Pioneer Woman await you.
