Howard led Walsh's transition from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics to NCAA Division II full membership in 2012. He also had big roles in the university adding football, men's and women's lacrosse and men's and women's bowling.

Prior to his appointment as athletic director, Howard served as Walsh's vice president for student affairs and dean of students. He will continue to have a temporary on call role as special assistant to the president.

Fautas spent two years as Walsh's men's lacrosse head coach from 2013-14. He joined the athletic department's administrative staff in July of 2014 as assistant athletic director and director of compliance.
