Walsh University hosting series on Jewish and Christian roots

NORTH CANTON − Walsh University on Thursday will host the Education for Life Colloquium Series, presented by Chris Seeman, chair of theology at Walsh University, and Rabbi David Komerofsky of Temple Israel in Canton.

The series is a five-part exploration into the Jewish and Christian roots of Walsh University’s core values: faith, excellence, integrity, service and community. The interfaith presentation, “Prayer and the Spiritual Journey,” will examine the foundational importance of individual spiritual journeys and prayer of the Judeo-Christian tradition.

The series continues with part two, “Discovering and Pursuing Our Ultimate Purpose,” presented on Dec. 7, the beginning of the Jewish festival of Hanukkah. Experience a lighting of the menorah by Rabbi Komerofsky and learn about its significance.

Free and open to the public, each part of the five-part series will be held in the Barrette Business and Community Center, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. There will extra security for this event due to Israel-Hamas war and tensions on U.S. college campuses.
