Following a hot-shooting day on the court against the Ohio Dominican Panthers last Saturday at Alumni Arena, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference awarded Walsh University and former Hiland High School standout Morgan McMillen as the reigning Great Midwest Athlete of the Week on Thursday.

McMillen paced the Cavaliers with 28 points on Saturday in an 92-48 win over Ohio Dominican in an efficient effort overall. The New Philadelphia native canned nine-of-ten shots, including seven-of-eight three point tries. She was a perfect three-of-three from the free throw line to reach the 28-point mark. She added two rebounds, two assists and three steals.

The senior is averaging 14.2 points per game while shooting 49% from the floor. From deep, McMillen is shooting 50.4% with 58 threes out of 115 attempts. Her three-point percentage is the best in Division II and the 3rd best in all of the NCAA. With 58 threes, she is the top three-point shooter in D2 and 5th among all divisions.

Walsh returns to the court Saturday against Lake Erie.
