Waltham’s Brandeis University To Honor MLK Jr. With Annual Events

WALTHAM, MA — Brandeis University in Waltham will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with several events on Monday, Jan. 17.

The school will host its 12th annual MLK Interfaith Day of Service from 1 to 4 p.m. The event, co- sponsored by Center for Spiritual Life, Myra Kraft Transitional Year Program, Brandeis University Library, Department of Community Services, Brandeis Hillel, Waltham Group, and CMM, will feature an opening speaker at 1 p.m., Social Justice and Community Workshops from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and an Advocacy Service Projects Fair from 3:15 to 4 p.m.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MLK Interfaith Day of Service will be virtual this year. To register in advance, click here.

Brandeis will also host its 16th annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sponsored by the Dean of Students Office, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Alumni Association, Alumni of Color Network, and Intercultural Center, this event will include inspirational performances, poetry, and a keynote speaker.
