Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer and Regina Hall are making history as the first three women to co-host the Oscars together.

The trio of comedic actors will take the reins of the 94th annual Academy Awards next month, Schumer announced Tuesday on "Good Morning America."

"I'm not sure who thought this was a good idea, but I am hosting the Oscars along with my good friend Wanda Sykes and ["Girls Trip's"] Regina Hall," Schumer said.

"I better go watch some movies," the "Snatched" star cracked.

While three performers have shared hosting duties before at the Hollywood gala - Goldie Hawn, "Crocodile Dundee's" Paul Hogan and Chevy Chase headlined the event in 1987 - the role has never been shared by an all-women group.

The news, first reported by Variety on Monday, comes after the Oscars went host-less the past three years. The last time an entertainer emceed the high-profile show was in 2019, when Jimmy Kimmel handled hosting duties.

The move also follows longstanding criticism the Academy Awards has received over a lack of diversity among nominees in some top categories. In 2020, Bette Midler joined a chorus of critics who targeted the show when women were shut out of the Best Director nominations. "Maybe we just get our own show called the Osc-hers?" the "Beaches" star said at the time.

"Power of the Dog" director Jane Campion is among the Best Director nominees at this year's awards show, making her the first woman to ever receive two nods in the directing category.

The Oscars airs March 27 on ABC.
