Wanna see Kansas City Chiefs training camp? Here’s the schedule of practices in St. Joe

Perhaps you’ve heard: Chiefs training camp begins a little earlier this year at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph.

This is the 13th straight summer that the Super Bowl-champion Chiefs are camping in St. Joe. All practice sessions will take place on the Mosaic Training Fields at Missouri Western.

Camp is starting sooner than usual because the Chiefs play on the NFL’s opening night — Thursday, Sept. 7 — against the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Open training camp practices — the ones fans can attend — begin Sunday and conclude Thursday, Aug. 17. Admission is free unless noted below or online at the Chiefs’ team website. Dates and times are subject to change, especially in the event of inclement weather.

Training camp tickets must be reserved in advance (while supplies last) at chiefs.com/trainingcamp. Per the Chiefs: “Due to the expected interest and demand, attendance at daily sessions will be limited to provide the best fan experience.”

Fans can reserve up to six tickets per practice, for a maximum of three practices. Paid-practice days will require advance payment to reserve tickets (only Chiefs season-ticket members will have the option to reserve tickets for the exclusive season-ticket member days, and paid-practice dates and season-ticket member dates do not count toward the maximum ticket reservation allotment of three practices per fan).

New this year, special Chiefs Tailgate Suites will be available for purchase in the north end zone for groups of 10 or more. Per the Chiefs, “Tailgate Suites offer a private viewing space next to the field with food & beverage and climate-controlled access in the Tailgate Suite. For more information or to reserve, visit www.chiefs.com/trainingcamp.” All tickets are mobile entry-only through the Chiefs Mobile app.

Missouri Western will charge a $5 parking fee per vehicle per day (parking is free for season-ticket members on the two season-ticket member dates). Missouri Western will also charge a $5 admission fee on three practice days: Sunday, July 23; Saturday, July 29 (Chiefs Champions Tour); and Saturday, Aug. 5 (Family Fun Day).

A couple of final important notes for fans: Team autograph sessions are scheduled to take place this Sunday and Monday, as well as July 29, Aug. 5 and Aug. 9. Alumni Day will take place on Monday, July 31, and Military Appreciation Day will be Thursday, Aug. 17.
