WORCESTER — Industry experts will share their knowledge with local students at the upcoming Worcester Sports Management Summit.

The third annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Worcester State University and features a career fair, panel discussion and a keynote address about emerging topics within the industry.

Executives from the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Worcester Red Sox, Worcester Railers, Worcester Bravehearts, Massachusetts Pirates, New York Mets, along with other sports-related companies will be on hand.

A new aspect to the event is an emphasis on inviting high school students. Classes from 20 local high schools are expected to attend.

“The Bravehearts strive to be more than just baseball. We want to be the leaders in the sports management industry,” Bravehearts general manager Dave Peterson said.  “We truly feel that the Worcester Sports Management Summit will become the most coveted event of its kind for young adults ages 17-24 who want to ultimately become professionals in the business of sports. We believe that many students will find their first job, or internship at this event.”

Attendees will participate in a panel discussion with experts, have the opportunity to drop off resume with prospective employers, and speak with hiring managers from several pro teams and companies.
