Want to help decide Evansville's next mayor? Make sure to register to vote

EVANSVILLE — Any city resident hoping to cast a ballot in this year's municipal election needs to be registered to vote by Tuesday, Oct. 10.

The deadline to register in-person is the end of business at the voter registration office at the Civic Center. The online deadline is midnight.

Are you eligible to register?

To register to vote in Indiana a person must:

  • Have a valid Indiana driver's license or Indiana State Identification Card.

  • Be a citizen of the United States.

  • Be at least 18 years old on or before the next election.

  • Have lived in their precinct at least 30 days before the next election.

  • Not currently be imprisoned after conviction of a crime.

How to register to vote online in Indiana

Residents can register to vote online at indianavoters.in.gov.

Anyone with a valid Indiana driver’s license or Indiana state-issued ID can use the site to submit a new voter registration application or to update an existing voter registration record.

Vanderburgh County Voters Registration Office

The local Voters Registration Office is located inside the Civic Center in Room 214.

It is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
