Do you want a home in SC with a tower and a sword in a stone? Check this one out

A castle to live in? With a sword in a stone? Yes. Think Walhalla, South Carolina.

And it’s for sale.

There is a $525,000 asking price for Walhalla Castle, a 3,000-square-foot home on 3 acres at 221 Collins Valley Road.

It has gargoyles, a tower, a gated entry adorned with stone lion heads and an actual sword sticking out of a vine-covered mound. Unlikely Merlin was involved in putting it there or that King Arthur is going to show up to pull it out in the name of justice.

But who knows?

“This perfectly imaginative home pulled right out of a storybook is waiting for you,” Jeff Cook of Jeff Cook Real Estate says on the listing.

It’s been on Zillow as of Tuesday for 119 days and the seller cut the asking price by $25,000 last week, so maybe too imaginative? Or maybe it’s for the discriminating buyer who loves Harry Potter and Disney movies.

It has four bedrooms, two and a half baths with the living spaces open and ceilings vaulted.

The stucco exterior was recently painted gray. The sunroom has a 180 degree view of the surrounding hardwood forest through which a creek flows.
