Want to own 'Joe Burrow Way?' Cheviot plans raffle, silent auction for street signs

In February, everyone around the Cincinnati area was feeling the Bengals spirit as the team was preparing to make its first appearance in the Super Bowl since the 1980s.

Including Cheviot, the suburb west of Cincinnati, which temporarily changed several street names to honor Cincinnati Bengals players and team founder Paul Brown. The signs were paid for by the Cheviot Business Alliance, and no city money went into the signs.

And now, Cheviot is planning to hold a Bengals sign raffle and silent auction, giving people the chance to own their very own piece of pre-Super Bowl Bengals history.

The raffle and silent auction will be held April 23 from 4-7 p.m. at the Public House on North Bend Road in Cheviot.

Tickets are $10 per chance for the raffle and are currently available at Kroner Dry Cleaners, R & R Quality Meats, Small's Hardware, Dean's Hops and Vines and Fogarty's Irish Pub. Once you have a ticket, fill it out and write which player's sign you'd like to have a chance to win.

Here's how many 28x5 inch street signs from each player are available:

  • Sam Hubbard Way: One.

  • McPherson Avenue: Two.

  • Joe Mixon Lane: One.

  • Huber Punt Way: Two.

  • T. Boyd Run: Two.

  • Uzomah Street: Two.

  • Joe Burrow Way: 14.

  • Zac Taylor Boulevard: One.

  • Perine Drive: Two.

  • Tee Higgins Drive: One.

The silent, in-person auction will be for Joe Burrow Way and Chase Drive signs. They are 7 by 17 inches.
