Want to see local artists at work in their studios? Go on the Valley Craft Network tour!

Valley Craft Network will host its 42nd Annual Studio Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 and Sunday, Nov. 19. In total, 16 artists are participating in the public studio tours. The tour is free and open to everyone.

Formed in 1981 to provide an alternative format for a group of professional craftspeople in the Middletown and Pleasant Valley areas to display and market high-quality craft items to the public, VCN has evolved into a generational creative experience.

Artists for the 2023 tour include Eric Kelchlin of Boochy Call Kombucha Brewery, Alice Orzechowski & Scott Hoyman of Caprikorn Farms, Dave Swiger of Contentment Turnings, Leigh Scott and Mark Cohen of Focal Pointers, Dirk Martin of Foxcross Pottery, Jane Pettit Art, Jennifer Bernhard Ceramics, Judith Williamson of JRW Creations, Kesra Hoffman’s Landscapes, Kirke Martin of M4 Studios, Nate & Natalie Kraft of Pathfinder Farm Distillery, Beth Carey of Studio2bcj, Tameria Martinez Clay, Bill van Gilder Pottery & Gallery, Eric & Lori Rice of Willow Oaks Cider, and Daniel Rudy of Woodendeavor, LLC.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase locally crafted art, see demonstrations and meet artists to learn about their inspirations. Those who experience Open Studio gain an appreciation for the creative process and the role that artists and craftspeople play in the vitality of the Western Maryland community.

“Each year, the wonderful artists around Maryland bring residents and visitors on a captivating journey. Our artists feature a wide variety of talents each year including sculptures, jewelry, repurposed goods, craft beverages, and much more,” said network member Jane Pettit.

The Valley Craft Network is comprised of skilled artisans based in the Middletown and Pleasant Valley area, united by their passion for art in all its forms. Established in 1981, the goal of VCN was and continues to be to cultivate a local artistic community while offering opportunities for creators and art enthusiasts to connect and appreciate the value of handcrafted art.
