Want to take the train to the NC State Fair? Amtrak will drop you off the fairgrounds

The NC State Fair returns to Raleigh this week with 11 days of roller coaster rides, carnival games, fried food, live music and more.

The annual fair, held on Oct. 12-22, is one of the largest multi-day events in North Carolina, bringing over 800,000 people to the capital every year.

There will be several parking options available nearby, but if you don’t want to deal with Raleigh road construction and fair traffic, you can also get dropped off directly at the fairgrounds by train.

The NC By Train AMTRAK Train Service is adding a special, temporary stop for those going to the fair, located just outside the entry gates. Whether you’re coming from Durham, Greensboro or even Charlotte, you’ll be able to sign up and book a trip. Here’s what to know if you want to get a ticket to go.

How to get an Amtrak train ticket to the NC State Fair

Amtrak will be offering a special stop, that is wheelchair accessible, to the NC State Fair everyday between Oct. 13-22, with multiple rides available throughout the day for those going to and from the fair.

Those riding the train will get dropped off and picked up at Gate 2 of the fairgrounds.
