Want to treat your mom? 10 CA brunch spots rank among nation’s best for Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is fast approaching, and those in California planning to take their mom’s out to eat are in luck.
Ten restaurants across the state were recognized among the country’s 100 best brunch spots to celebrate Mother’s Day on May 14, according to a new ranking from Yelp.
The spots are in cities across the state from San Francisco to Ventura, Long Beach and Oceanside.
These brunch spots also offer different cuisines, including classic American breakfast fare, “vegan soul food,” Italian brunch meets California brunch and American-Thai.
One restaurant in Long Beach landed No. 3 on Yelp’s list. The Wild Chive serves all the classic brunch dishes but with a vegan twist.
Brunch-goers can expect stuffed french toast, monte cristo and a “southern fried chick’n sammie.”
To find the best brunch spots to celebrate Mother’s Day, Yelp identified businesses in the “breakfast & brunch category” and ranked those restaurants on “the total volume and ratings of reviews mentioning ‘brunch.’”

No. 52: Havana — Walnut Creek
No. 53: Cups Cafe — Palm Desert
