Want to get through TSA faster? Atlantic City International taking PreCheck applications

EGG HARBOR TWP. - Atlantic City International Airport is planning a week-long event to help travelers move more quickly through security checkpoints.

The airport will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment program from Nov. 27 through Dec. 1.

Applications will be accepted in the airport's terminal between 9 a.m. and noon, and from 1 to 5 p.m.

The PreCheck service offers low-risk travelers "a smoother experience through airport security," according to a statement from the South Jersey airport.

"Enrolled members do not need to remove shoes, laptops, 3-1-1 liquids, belts, or light jackets," it said.

Atlantic City International is holding its event in collaboration with IDEMIA, which offers PreCheck enrollment for $78.

How does TSA PreCheck program work?

"If approved, travelers get a five-year membership with the program," the statement said.

The KTN number must be added to flight reservations to use the PreCheck service.

The TSA advises consumers to review "trusted traveler programs" of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security before making an enrollment decision.

'If you travel internationally four or more times a year, consider enrolling in Global Entry," it said. "If you take less than four international trips a year, TSA PreCheck is a great choice for domestic travelers."
