Wappingers Falls man accused of sexually abusing a child

WAPPINGERS FALLS - A Wappingers Falls man was accused Wednesday of sexually abusing a child.

State police said that after they received a law enforcement tip, investigators determined that Marc H. Santoro, 54, of Wappingers Falls, sexually abused a child under the age of 11.

Police said they arrested Santoro on Wednesday and charged him with first-degree sexual abuse, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

Santoro was arraigned in village of Wappingers Falls Court and sent to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail, $30,000 bond or $60,000 partially secured bond.

He is scheduled to reappear in court on Monday. The name of his attorney was not immediately available Thursday.
